UC Enterprise Dive and Boat Safety Program provides oversight and support for all scientific diving and boating operations at Gump Station. The procedures below are being updated. Users should consult with Jim Hayward, Gump Station's Dive & Boat Safety Officer (Contact information).
Those wishing to operate a Station boat need to be approved first, which entails:
- All boat operators must have a valid boating license from their country of origin.
- All Gump Station boat operators must complete the Small Boat Operator Application form and familiarize themselves with the Gump Boating Safety Manual and pass a practical exam onsite.
- Prior to each use, approved operators must complete the boat checkout form.
