Matt McElroy's interests in the Emoia skinks of Mo'orea began in Fall 2007 through participation in UC Berkeley's "Biology and Geomorphology of Tropical Islands" course. In the summer of 2008, McElroy returned to French Polynesia under Prof. Craig Moritz to finish his investigation of the comparative thermal ecology of Emoia cyanura and Emoia impar. McElroy has since graduated from UC Berkeley with an honors degree in Integrative Biology and is submitting his results for publication. McElroy can now be found on Barro Colorado Island in Panama, working with Dr. Roland Kays on seed dispersal by Agoutis (Dasyprocta punctata), with a predatory Ocealot (Leopardis pardalis) twist.
